Blue because you can't get your passport? Instead,
blue can be your favorite color.
Since
the new passport laws began January 23, 2007, the U.S. Government passport agency
system has been overloaded and many people have not been able to get a United
States passport in time to travel. See details at www.newpassportlaws.com.
The government expects ½ of American citizens to have passports in 4 years.
That is over 150,000,000 passports! Here's
what's good about "blue". There are
plenty of wonderful vacation destinations that do not require a US passport...
such as the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico, surrounded by deep blue
ocean and near perfect
weather year round. How about Guam, an island paradise known for its turquoise
and calming water falls? Their dry season is January through May. How about flying
off into the wild blue yonder for the U.S.
Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John), American Samoa, Swains Island
and Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands? These are all commonwealths or territories
of the U.S. Some people think they need a passport for Hawaii and Alaska, but
these two are states. Citizens
of Mexico, Canada, and Bermuda will now have to have a passport to enter the U.S.
You should check with any country you may want to travel to and find out their
passport requirements. Since 9/11 the laws have been tightening.
Always check for hurricane
season so you can avoid it. There
are different rules and deadlines to get a passport for flying or going by boat,
and the rules are changing in 2008. If you want to go on a cruise, you may still
be able to take a cruise without a passport until summer 2008. | |
